What is Kum Nye?

Kum Nye is a Tibetan relaxation system that was developed around the 8th-century. Kum Nye is a yoga-like form of exercise practice that is aimed to create free flow of Ki the body's natural healing energy. By keeping the Ki in your body flowing it allows the practioner to achieve vitality and a state of optimum health.

Kum Nye practice is divided into three sections (disciplines) that promote complete and total well-being by creating a connection between the mind, body, and spirit. You will learn how to control your physical and emotional states to a point of complete total body relaxation. In this course you are required to master the disciplines outlined in each section before moving to the next. You will recieve a variety of materials to assist you and will need to keep a notebook for the course.

1.- Learning to connect Mind & Body - this course begins with sitting exercises, basic breathing techniques, and meditation practice. We learn to be aware using all of our senses and learn to appreciate ourselves in ways we normally would not be aware of. Learn about the Chakras (energy centers) located in the body and how they can help to heal the body naturally. By understanding Chakra's you learn to be in better touch with ourselves.

2.- Tibetan Movement Exercises and Self-Massage - this section of the course you will learn to stimulate the Ki in your body which will give us greater self-understanding. You will learn principles that have been designed from philosophy and history for thousand of centuries that you can apply to your daily life for self-improvement. By opening your mind and having compassion for yourself you can achieve a state of inner peace and inner happiness which can change the way you look at life.

3. - Tibetan Stretching Exercises - this final section of the course will teach you how to achieve complete and total body relaxation. You will learn to realx the physical, mental and emotional, and energetic or spiritual states of your mind, body, and spirit. This is a style of yoga for healing and energy from the Tibetan Tradition. These exercises are designed not to create stress or strain on the body. They can relieve tension, heighten energy levels for better productivity, improve concentration, enhance self-understanding, and expand sensory awareness.
