Our eldest attends  Richmond Montessori School and is enjoying 6th grade there.  She loves to be physically active, biking, climbing, jumping, rollerblading, running, kayaking, dancing, etc.  Although she has more of a leaning toward individual sports (track and field, cross country), she will be starting her third season playing volleyball on a USVBA Juniors Under 14 team at the Richmond Volleyball Club this winter.  In addition to her athletic prowess, she is also a real bookworm, voraciously reading every book she can get her hands on.  She is also quite gifted with the piano and with drawing and other crafts as well. The next daughter also attends Richmond Montessori School and is in her second year in a Lower Elementary classroom (the equivalent of second grade).  She has a rather exuberant personality and is definitely more sensing and feeling than she is rational!  Although less confident or daring when it comes to things physical than either of her sisters, she is slowly becoming more willing to challenge herself! She is clearly her own person. She has a unique perspective on life and a rather puzzling way of describing events, the timing of events, and the general universe around her. Sometimes it takes quite some effort to figure out exactly what it is she's talking about. (click on her picture for more snapshots)

The youngest also attends Richmond Montessori School as a Primary I student (preschooler).    She is a social butterfly and has a gift for gab (don't know where she could have gotten that from in this family!).  She is also extremely independent, adventurous and fearless.  She loves to play (usually some sort of pretend) with her older sisters and enjoys pretty much everything, from looking at books, plunking on the piano, doing puzzles, drawing, riding her scooter and bike, climbing all over the playset, jumping on the trampoline, playing on the swings, gliding on the zipline, kicking the soccer ball around, etc.  She has the strength and coordination of a much older child and has a strong sense of what she wants.  Her advanced verbal and physical abilities, her energy, and her independent streak can make her quite the handful at times! Her teachers (and parents) think she'd make a fine lawyer some day!  She is quite adept at arguing, debating and otherwise trying to talk her way out of trouble...which she unfortunately seems to have a knack for getting herself into lately.  Here are some snapshots of her (click on her picture to see more snapshots) and a video of her on the zipline at age 2 with her oldest sister providing the musical accompaniment.

Below are some pictures of all of us, including our newest canine acquisition named "Rex" who is a Norwegian Elkhound/German Shepherd mix (or so we're told).
