Editorial by Michael Southard
Welcome to the first issue of Tower of Light Fantasy. In this issue, we celebrate our debut with four new short stories, one previously published story, and an interview with fantasy author Teresa Edgerton, writer of the Green Lion and Kingdom of Celydon trilogies. War Witch is an excerpt from one of my works-in-progress that (at least attempts to) blend some of the conventions of horror/fantasy literature and anime. The Meetinganother excerpt from a work-in-progressis about a superhero named T-Bird, created by Daniel Henderson.
Knowing How to Look, by Ian Whates, provides an unparalleled view of the many layers of London, including one where not everything is quite as it seems. Ian Whates has published several stories in his career, one of which appeared in the science journal Nature. He has also edited and published Time Pieces, a chapbook anthology including three stories that were later nominated for the 2007 British Science Fiction Awards.
In Christopher Heath's Adairos, a fierce Amazon warrior seeks revenge from the man she once loved. The Azieran stories by Christopher Heath have appeared in such publications as Fantasist Enterprises and Pitch Black Books. He has also published in Pitch Black's Sages and Swords anthology, along with works by notable authors like Harold Lamb and Tanith Lee, after winning the Storn Cook contest.
Sailor of a Dry Sea by Tom Williams, previously published in Jachammer E-Zine, is about a warrior that sails a yacht designed for desert sands, and it takes place in a world described in brilliant detail.
Please vote on the stories you read at the forum. That way I can learn what kinds of stories the Tower of Light readers like.
