Quick Guide to Using the Online Property Tax Spreadsheet

 

1.      Get your current SDAT property data sheet. 

Click on the link below, enter your street number and street name into the form and click on the Search button.  (Do NOT enter ST, RD, AVE, or any other street name suffix.)  Print the data sheet that is displayed.   (Condo owners:  You may need to select the specific unit from the list that is displayed.)

2.      Get your 2005 property tax bill. 

Click on the link below, enter your property address into the Street Address box, and click on the View button to the right of the box.  Select your property (several properties may be displayed if the property is a condo), and then select the bill for the 2005 Levy Year.  Select “Click here for a printer-friendly version of your tax bill” (under the red bar).  Print the data sheet that is displayed.  (Alternatively, you can use the printed tax bill that you received in July 2005).

3.      Fill in the boxes in the web-based spreadsheet.

Fill in the spreadsheet boxes by copying the values from the SDAT data sheet and the property tax bill that you obtained in steps 1 and 2.

4.      Try various tax rates and credits to see how your property taxes will change.
